Owner and founder of Cami's Artisans Designs, Camila Lopez, started her sales and crafting journey at age five at her mom's university. She sold bracelets, clay dolls, beetle shell brooch pins, and art from fallen seeds while waiting for her mom to get out of class. When everyone on campus wore her items with a smile, she developed a love for making crafts that made others feel special.
When moving to the states from Cali, Colombia, her artistic passions and skills grew while she assisted Manatee School for the Arts. She was a teacher's aide, doing stage makeup for all school performances. Outside of school, she continued learning new jewelry techniques to generate income. The joy of her craft encouraged her to combine those passions to start a face painting arts and crafts business as a side hustle.
Having to support her family, she had many jobs in sales and management positions. However, due to health complications preventing her from working a traditional nine-to-five, she took a leap of faith and made Cami's Artisans Designs her full-time vocation. Believing in her business now fills Cami with passion and purpose in creating art that is not only a tribute to her journey but has unique significance to everyone her brand touches.
